We’ve published this edition of Even Better Together so that we might introduce ourselves to you. We’re the Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine, or AAIM, a consortium of five organizations working together to promote the advancement and professional development of our members—the people who prepare the next generation of internal medicine physicians and leaders.

Inside these pages, you’ll find stories that offer insights into who we are, what we do, and how we support our members. Along the way, you’ll meet a few AAIM members—some with us for decades, others for just a few years—who speak clearly about the strength and benefits of the Alliance.

As you’ll discover, AAIM is a powerful advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion. In fact, those principles are part of everything we do. We can only truly meet the needs of our members and the patients they serve when we ensure everyone has access and is included.
